I know this video is a year late! So late that the 2026 game happened in May and this is coming out AFTER that. Whoops. Nonetheless, I’d been given an ultimatum, and it’s World Cup season (not that I’m watching), so it’s as good a time as ever, right?
This video acts like an archive of the event, if you will. If you’d like an uncut video, let me know.
This event pools people from Taskmaster together, including Alex Horne and commentators Nish Kumar and Aisling Bea, for a game of football with customised rules that make no sense without an explanation. It’s literally a game of Chicken and Egg. I explain the structure below.
Subtitles have been included with dialogue added to the best of my ability. If any are wrong (they probably will be), let me know!

—THE RULES—
1. A goalscorer can convert their goal into two goals with a successful crossbar challenge.
2. While Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus plays, two balls will be in play.
3. While Sit Down by James plays, everyone except the keepers must sit down.
4. No one may set foot inside the D. If you do, the other team gets an American style penalty from the D.
5. One player on each team is a Traitor. At halftime, each captain must accuse one player on their own team of being a Traitor. If they get it right, they get an extra goal.
6. If it’s a draw at the end, or there’s only one goal in it; penalties. Just good old fashioned penalties.

Forgive the atrocious filming at certain points, this is a year old but I’ve improved since!
