Brazil took a 2-0 lead into half-time after a dominant opening 45 minutes against Scotland. Vinícius Júnior was central to the danger throughout, first pouncing on a Scotland mistake to round the goalkeeper and tap Brazil ahead, before later having a goal ruled out by VAR for a foul on Jack Hendry. Scotland survived another scare when Vini Jr cut the ball back for Matheus Cunha, whose effort was hooked off the line by Hendry and almost ricocheted in off Angus Gunn. But Brazil eventually doubled their lead in stoppage time, as Gabriel’s cross from the right was missed by Gunn, allowing Vinícius to head home from close range
