Sid Meier's Gettysburg Yankee

Demanding players will disdain its chunky graphics and limited special effects. Even casual gamers will notice the clunky controls and the game's poor pathfinding AI. One good point that gives this oldie an edge over even some of today s titles is the well-made tutorial and the handy hints that appear at the beginning of a battle. The three demo levels provide a taste of combat on the Union and Confederate sides. You need to take care of your soldiers' morale: if they get shot from the rear or come under heavy gunfire, they'll run from the field. If you loved Gettysburg Yankee in 1997, you might enjoy giving it another try. For most people, though, it's little more than a quaint historical curiosity.
