“Juventus” and “Real Madrid” met in the UEFA Champions League final in the 2016/17 season — it was a clash between two giants of World football. The Champions League trophy was on the line, and “Real Madrid” took the lead as early as the 20th minute through Cristiano Ronaldo after a brilliant team move. “Juventus” responded almost immediately: after a magnificent strike from Mario Mandžukić, they equalized in the 27th minute, but in the second half Casemiro’s long-range shot in the 61st minute once again gave “Real Madrid” the advantage, and on the very next attack in the 64th minute Cristiano Ronaldo scored his second, while Marco Asensio sealed the 4:1 victory with the final kick of the game. “Real Madrid” claimed their twelfth European title and completed a historic treble — winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Champions League under head coach Zinedine Zidane.
The match featured stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Sergio Ramos, Toni Kroos, Luka Modrić, Dani Carvajal, Gianluigi Buffon, Andrea Pirlo, Paul Pogba, Paulo Dybala, and Mario Mandžukić — and it became one of the most memorable Champions League finals of the modern era.
